HTC and T-Mobile finally revealed the retail launch plans for the One S last week, looking to kick-off sales this Wednesday, April 25. Just like AT&T stores with the Nokia Lumia 900 last week, it looks like some retailers may similarly be jumping the gun on the HTC One S, with reports of the phone already showing up in some stores.
Apparently Walmart couldn’t resist the allure of the One S for another few days, and at least some of its locations have been adding the phone to their display lines already. Now, the important question is whether or not the store has actually started selling the One S to any customers in advance of the planned retail launch date, and unfortunately, that pertinent detail has been missing from accounts.
That said, the odds are probably in your favor that if enough Walmart stores have set-up for the One S before it’s supposed to be here, at least a fraction of those might also let you take the phone home a couple days early.
For the moment, Walmart doesn’t seem to be planning to offer any substantial savings for the One S, with the tag in this photo reflecting a launch price that’s essentially the same as T-Mobile’s.
