Vodafone Starts Own Content Channel in European Android Market

Anton D. Nagy | July 5, 2011 4:28 AM

You might remember that back in April Sony Ericsson has flipped the switch on its very own Android Market channel — the very first smartphone manufacturer to have its own. Now network operator Vodafone has just announced that it started its own content channel too.

The carrier calls it “the first such channel in Europe” and it will offer Android smartphone users on Vodafone an always-up-to-date list of content. It will include services, news, sport, information and games deriving from the carrier’s global and local partnerships. These offerings will often be free, discounted or exclusive to the Vodafone channel.

If you live in The U.K., Germany, Italy, The Netherlands or Spain, you can access the Vodafone tab on the homepage of Android Market. The offering will soon be extended to Greece, Ireland and Portugal.
