You might remember HTC’s Facebook promise that the unlocked HTC Legend will get Android 2.2 update soon, but carrier branded handsets will be updated according to the operators, whenever they will roll the update out.
Reports started to flood in and according to a Vodafone user that checked for updates on his/her branded HTC Legend, “its telling me an update is avalible update is Android 2.2 & HTC sense update size is 82.88mb so recomends downloading via wifi”. Also, Virgin stated on its website that “we’ve started sending out the Froyo update as of 9am this morning” – that is November 11, so manually checking for updates on your handsets might trigger the update if it is available. Strange that this time the unbranded handset is behind as now official Android 2.2 Froyo update is available yet.
