Android Hitting Virgin Mobile US By Way of Samsung Intercept

Virgin Mobile US has announced its very first Android-powered handset, the Samsung Intercept, via Facebook. The 3.2-inch QWERTY slider is already available on Sprint running Android 2.1 Eclair and featuring a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS, along with EV-DO Rev. 0. Although no pricing nor release dates have been given, Virgin tells us to “stay tuned over the next few weeks for more information,” — during which time, as Engadget points out, CTIA is throwing a little shindig in San Francisco. Anyway, pay-as-you-go fans, welcome to the exciting world of Android.
