If you’re on the list of those who wished that the Nokia N9 got a better chance at reaching our pockets, we couldn’t agree more. Lucky for us, the images we recently discovered of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Nokia N9, just got an additional boost of credibility with a video. So far it seems that the port is still at its infancy since the battery indicator is clearly not working. We can also assume that the device has problems with connecting to the cellular network, but Ice Cream Sandwich makes that hard to tell, since all you get are empty signal bars as a normal indication when you pop the SIM out also.
What’s cool though is that we notice Ice Cream Sandwich working on its full glory. It kind of looks like if they’re using the tablet version of Android 4.0 for this port since everything defaults to landscape, but the Apps menu and the widget menu work in their own choppy way.
Sadly we’re still not sure if this port will ever see the light of day, but can you imagine if it did? I’d be on the top of the list of people willing to use an N9 as a daily driver if Ice Cream Sandwich was ever an option. Call this an early build for now, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as things become accessible.
