From its strikingly thin construction, to its sleek Kevlar facade, Motorola’s Droid RAZR makes a strong effort towards keeping smartphones stylish. If you like the general design of the phone, but were hoping for maybe a slightly bolder look, you might be interested in the news of a limited edition RAZR that’s just leaked-out of Verizon.
The big difference between a regular RAZR and the limited edition model is the new Kevlar back panel design, now heavily accented with Verizon red. The phone also gets a “Limited Edition” tag up front, and will be produced as an individually-numbered series. Both the RAZR and the RAZR Maxx will be offered in this new configuration.
So far, things sound pretty good, but there’s a catch. Verizon is reportedly only going to offer these limited editions to its own employees for purchase. They’ll also get a sweet deal on the phones, at $100 for the 16GB RAZR or $200 for the 32GB Maxx, both including the phone’s dock. Supposedly, Verizon will start selling the handsets sometime in April; you’ll have between now and then to start friendlying-up to a Verizon employee.
