A little earlier today we were musing over the reliability of the Verizon roadmap we saw leak last week, noting how the Samsung Droid Charge should have been out yesterday, were it accurate. As if right on cue, a new document has leaked, showing revised dates for the Charge, as well as the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the HTC Incredible 2.
The new Charge date makes sense, moving back a week from yesterday to April 14. As accessories often pop up just in advance of a smartphone’s retail sales, the appearance of Charge gear today fits with this change-of-schedule.
What’s happened with the Xperia Play and Incredible 2 is a little more interesting. The two Androids seem to have swapped places in the original release schedule, with the Incredible 2 now coming out first, on April 21 (rather than the 28th), and the Xperia Play now coming out on April 28 (originally the 14th). We’re used to seeing smartphones get delayed, as appears to be the case with the Play, but having their release date bumped up is far less common.
As always, with unofficial data like this, don’t consider these dates gospel, but a guideline for when you could hope to see these phones appear.
