We know the codenames for U.S. carrier variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II are Attain, Function and Within. From these, the Verizon version is expected to be called Function and according to recent reports the phone should hit this month (later denied by the carrier).
There’s a mobile speed test website that gathers information about the phones using the benchmark. Top of the list as you can see in the image above is the Samsung Function. We can go two ways here: be optimistic and believe, together with lots of other fans, that this is for real and Functions out there being field-tested visited the website; we can be pesimistic and say it’s probably fake.
Regardless, Samsung needs to get to the U.S. and that’s very soon because every day of delay would be a loss at the end of the day. Mango is coming really soon, the next iPhone is coming soon enough and the Korean manufacturer would want to have its phones on carriers before any of the above mentioned occur. What do you think?
