Users of the Verizon LG Spectrum were looking forward to receiving the VS920ZV5 update even though it’s not the official Ice Cream Sandwich update that should be rolled-out sometime in the future, according to the carrier’s official upgrade list.
Documents for a new update which should arrive over-the-air have been published and this time it’s update VS920V6. Needless to say that it is still not Android 4.0, though the changes appear to be rather important. Android will be version 2.3.6 and your Google applications (Play, YouTube, Gmail, and Talk) will be updated, aside from all the changes and improvements you can see in the screenshot above. The refresh itself will weigh just below 130MB and it will probably land shortly (as usual with the roll-out process following the publishing of official documents).
