Where are we with updates on the US release plans for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus? Officially, we’ve yet to hear anything from Verizon, other than seeing it launch a sign-up page for receiving news about the handset. Unofficially, though, there have been more than enough rumors attempting to divine just when the smartphone might arrive. One more leaked bit of info arrives today, but does it serve as confirmation or just to further muddy the waters?

So far, we’ve looked at the possibility of the Galaxy Nexus coming out on November 10, as that date was associated with the phone in a leaked Verizon MAP list. Then there was the more recent discovery of an advertising calendar that suggested the Galaxy Nexus wouldn’t get here until after Thanksgiving. According to this new leak, Verizon stores will begin advertising the phone on November 15, with sales starting on November 17.

That date should look familiar to you, because that’s when Europe will be getting the Galaxy Nexus. If this is true, it conflicts with a claim that’s been attributed to Samsung itself, saying that Europe would have first claim to the handset, with US and other international sales following.

The leak comes with plenty of caveats, though, like that the memo hasn’t yet been distributed to stores. Supposedly, both this announcement and the promo gear will be sent out next week, so even if a November 17 launch may be the intent now, there’s no saying Verizon won’t amend its schedule. That said, the idea of a unified global launch has a nice ring to it – we’ll just have to wait and see for now.
