If you’d like to unlock and root your Verizon Galaxy Nexus but don’t want to go to all the trouble of downloading the Android SDK, finding and installing the Samsung drivers, downloading fastboot, and running everything from a command prompt you’re in luck… so long as you’re running Windows.
Wug’s Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit is an executable that takes care of all the techno jargon for you. With one-click it sets up the SDK and drivers, and with another click unlocks and roots your phone! And just in case you want to go back to stock, there’s a button for that, too!
What if you’ve got a GSM Galaxy Nexus? Unfortunately you’re stuck with the manual method for unlocking and rooting (but installing the SDK and drivers will probably work via this tool). Don’t fret, the developer says he should have a GSM version shortly!
