The Google Android 4.0.2 update on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus caught in the wild at the end of last month raised a few eyebrows. On the same note, it now appears that the phone is getting a certain Android 4.1 update which could indicate the end of the carrier testing stage.
The refresh appears to have a brand new radio version which probably seems to be the reason of the update. There are also some other changes included, as reported, but the baseband is the one which should deliver performance and stability enhancements to the phone. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and there is no need for further firmware work; we really need that phone out on the shelves in the beginning of this month.
