Twitter just updated their app for Android to version 1.0.3.

According to their changelog, v1.0.3 includes:

– Uses OAuth for login authorization

– Fixes a null pointer exception when trying to search people

– Uploading your profile pic using the app now works

– Addresses newline characters results in weird bylines

– Addresses force close when scrolling the timeline

– Addresses force close when deleting a link and switching orientation

I had no problem installing the update on my Sprint Samsung Epic 4G running Android 2.1-update1 and was able to login using the new OAuth authentication method seamlessly.

Others, however, are reporting various bugs as well as the inability to login. Uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone, and reinstalling may take care of the problem.
