The answer many Thrive owners were waiting for might have come via Twitter, as Toshiba USA confirms “targeting the end of Spring for ICS availability on the Thrive 10-inch”. Later updates also confirm the 7-inch Thrive to get the same treat. Currently, Toshiba’s Thrive tablets run on Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb and come with a 1 GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 8, 16 or 32GB of storage capacity, 1GB of RAM, two cameras, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Except for an official roll-out date, this is still good news for users, even if “the end of Spring” could just as well mean “the beginning of Summer”. We will know more soon.
