While shoppers in the US bravely face Black Friday crowds (or stay locked-up at home until it’s safe to go out again), it’s just a regular shopping day for the rest of the world. While the UK may not have midnight door-busters going on, it does have one additional smartphone for us to buy today, thanks to T-Mobile announcing the launch of its Vivacity.
The carrier-branded Vivacity is manufactured by China’s ZTE. While many details on the handset are available, we still haven’t heard a precise figure for its clock speed. From what’s available, though, it’s clear we’re looking at a more low-end device, so we’re likely almost certainly talking single-core below 1GHz.
The Vivacity features a 3.5-inch WVGA display, a five-megapixel rear camera, and arrives running Gingerbread. It ships with a 2GB microSD; feel free to swap that out with a beefier card, up to 32GB.
Sales of the Vivacity begin today, both retail and online, for what works out to about $150 as a pay-as-you-go handset. T-Mobile says a white version of the phone will be available, but for now only the black version is on its website.
