Last time the T-Mobile myTouch 4G got an update it was Gingerbread back in July. Now, despite some users already receiving refreshes since last week, T-Mobile is officially starting the update roll-out today, going all the way through January 23.

The over-the-air update is Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with Software version bumped to 2.32.531.1. It should bring Google security updates, a new version of Swype as well as additional software improvements. The refresh will be only delivered over-the-air with no manual download option so make sure you apply as soon as you have the update notification ready on your phone (or check manually to make sure you don’t miss it).
