What apps come pre-loaded on the T-Mobile myTouch 4G? Glad you asked! Let’s take a look!
The first thing you’re going to notice on any phone is the user-interface, or UI. This iteration of the myTouch comes pre-laoded with a customized version of HTC’s Sense UI. In all honesty, this is the first version of Sense that I’ve used that didn’t irritate me in use. There are still some things that I think the stock Android OS and app suite does better, but I’m glad that HTC is continuing to push their UI forward and make improvements that are more in-line with what the rest of Android looks and feels like (or perhaps it’s the other way around).
As with most carrier-branded phones, the myTouch 4G comes with its share of “bloatware” — software that you may not want or use, but you’re stuck with because it comes with the phone. Most of these apps, however, are small enough not to get in the way, and are nice to have just in case you need a distraction.
Many are demos, providing one or two levels (Asphalt, Rockband), or time-limited subscriptions (T-Mobile TV), but they are still pretty cool and could come in hand to keep you or a friend entertained when waiting for a train or flight.
Let’s take a quick walk through of all the stuff that comes pre-loaded on the myTouch 4G.
