If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a T-Mobile G2x, today might be the day to make up your mind, as progress has been made towards a CM7 build for the dual-core Android, and a special offer will let you pick up the smartphone, today only, for a mere $99 at Radio Shack.
A couple weeks back, we took a look at early work on bringing CyanogenMod 7 to the newly-released T-Mobile G2x. Though still very much a work-in-progress, enough ground has been gained for the port to start seeing nightly releases, the first of which arrived over the weekend. This is still an experimental release, so you shouldn’t plan on flashing your G2x and going about your day expecting to rely on CM7 to be stable. What you will be able to do, if you’re up for it, is test these nightlies as they’re released and hopefully see a steady progression towards stability.
For the rest of the day only, Radio Shack is offering the best deal we’ve seen so far on a T-Mobile G2x, letting you pick one up on-contract for only $99. For a phone that’s only been out for less than two weeks, that’s a pretty nice deal, even if it is very limited in scope. In order to get the $99 price, you’ll have to place your G2x order through Radio Shack’s website; no luck getting these savings at a retail location.
