The T-Mobile G2x from LG promises to be a big hit on the soon-to-be engulfed carrier, and we were able to spend a few minutes with the first (and perhaps on of the only) dual-core handset to hit Magenta. As expected, everything felt pretty speedy, and we were especially imperssed with the video demo we saw: not only was the playback super smooth, hopping around from scene to scene was almost instantaneous. Network speeds felt zippy as well, although some of that is due to the fact that T-Mobile has one or more HSPA+ minisites at the show. Overall we were impressed by our short demo, probably with the functionality moreso than the hardware, whose slightly chunky profile could probably have used a wider variety of build materials. Still, expect this to become one of the go-to devices for power users looking for raw speed, both due to the pair of processing cores as well as the stock Android build.
