Earlier this week, the Express from Sprint showed up in a leaked copy of the latest Sprint Playbook. We quickly recognized this carrier-branded handset as being a re-badged Huawei Boulder, also available on Orange in the UK as its Barcelona. So far, the Playbook has been the only place we had seen mention of the Express, but it looks like Sprint let some more information on the phone slip out early. The carrier has yet to officially announce the Express, yet there’s an Express introductory video currently live on Sprint’s YouTube channel.
The clip is just a quick overview of the phone’s hardware layout and software capabilities, but if you’re not already familiar with the Boulder/Barcelona, this could be a good shot to get a first look at the handset. It’s definitely going to be one of the lower-performing Androids arriving this quarter, but not everyone is going to be doing heavy mobile web browsing, or playing the latest games. If your Android aspirations are more along the lines of keeping in touch with your friends, and maybe some YouTube clips, the Express and its 600MHz processor should be up to the task.
According to the earlier leak, the Express will go up for sale on November 18 for about $20 on-contract.
