A little earlier this month, we were hearing plenty of rumors about the arrival of Sprint’s first LTE-supporting models, the LG Viper 4G LTE and Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus. While the gossip has cooled-down quite a bit since then, we’re still waiting for official word on much of the launch plans. We know when the Viper’s pre-orders will open, for instance, but not yet when the phone will actually arrive. In the absence of confirmation, we’ve seen several dates lobbed about for both models, with April 15 and April 22 coming up over and over. While we’re still not quite at anything official just yet, some new evidence has arrived regarding the Galaxy Nexus launch plans.
A Sprint retail tipster managed to take some shots of the new marketing materials showing up at the carrier’s stores, featuring posters of the Galaxy Nexus. The materials themselves make no mention of any dates, but the shipping tube containing them notes the posters are to go up on April 15. That doesn’t necessarily mean the phone will also be available that day in fact, it seems like Sprint would want to start promoting the phone in advance of the start of sales so maybe we’re really looking at that April 22 date after all.
