You know what I like? Updates. Updates fix bugs, add features, often-times make things go faster, and occasionally bring you unexpected goodies. Such is the case for the recent “maintenance update” that Sprint released for the LG Optimus S.
In addition to the typical bug-fixes, Sprint included a treat: The Swype keyboard! Although it took me a while to warm-up to Swype, this custom on-screen keyboard has become my favorite soft-keyboard (IME) available today. Swype, for those of you who don’t know, can function like a typical keyboard, but also gives you the ability to long-press on a key to input another character and the ability to “swype” your finger across the keys (without lifting) to input an entire word.
Also included in the update (version LS670ZV9) is the ability to remote wipe and enhanced password policies. The update should be flowing out OTA now.
