HTC’s EVO 3D on Sprint is up for pre-order, and Sprint’s been talking about the 3D content it’s loading the phone with, but when will the smartphone finally get here? While one rumor gave it a “rough” launch date of around June 4, a more recent leak puts it much later in the month. The latest backs up that claim, pegging the phone for a June 24 release.
This information comes via a screenshot of an image of what purports to be an upcoming Radio Shack flyer. As you can see, we’re a few steps removed from just a simple picture of a physical flyer, so treat this pic with the appropriate dose of skepticism. If what it reveals is true, Radio Shack will continue to take pre-orders for the EVO 3D up until Tuesday June 21, with the release scheduled for that Friday. Earlier Radio Shack documents have revealed that the phone will fetch about $200 on-contract, or $500 free-and-clear.
The EVO 3D will mark the debut of no-glasses-required 3D on a smartphone in the US. If you’re not sold on the idea of a 3D phone just yet, the HTC Sensation 4G will offer nearly the same smartphone experience with a traditional 2D display, and should be out a week earlier than the EVO 3D, coming to stores as soon as June 12.
