Sprint is reportedly having another go at getting Android 2.2 Froyo onto their Galaxy S variant, the Samsung Epic 4G. We previously reported that the Froyo update for the Epic was halted due to various problems.
Apparently Sprint and Samsung have overcome the problems discovered after the previous upgrade had begun and are ready to try again. The OTA rollout is scheduled to start Monday, March 21, 2011 and should update the Epic to Android Froyo 2.2.1 EC05. It’s expected that the rollout should take approximately one week to complete.
This build will reportedly include Bluetooth improvements, Adobe Flash Player enhancements, and the addition of Sprint ID, not to mention all the extra goodies that come along with Froyo that weren’t included in Eclair.
The Samsung Galaxy Tablet and the Transform will also be getting Froyo updates beginning the same time as the Epic 4G.
