We’ve had the fortune to see some early snapshots of a couple in-development Sony Androids lately, with models LT29i and ST21i both spotted on-camera. It only makes sense that we should be running across a good number of Sony phones, as a leaked roadmap from earlier this year shows plans for the release of seven Sony smartphones over the summer. Today we get a look at what might just be another device from that group, supposedly model ST26i, showing what might be the start of some small design changes to the Xperia line.

Sony first started its Xperia branding several months ago, when we first started seeing the appearance of phones from Sony alone, with no sign of Ericsson. What didn’t change, though, was the continued use of the company’s green orb logo. We can’t say if what we’re looking at here represents the final design of the handset, but it certainly seems like Sony could be further refining how it presents its phones by doing away with this logo.

As for the ST26i itself, it sounds like quite the middling phone, running Gingerbread on a 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM and featuring a four-inch qHD display. There’s no indication yet of any possible Sony plans for bringing ICS to the handset.
