Consider yourself a big Sony fan? Try and make sense out of the image above. Even long-time Sony Ericsson users may struggle to identify all the handsets pictured. To be fair, there’s a reason you might not recognize all of them, since at least a couple appear to be new hardware. Just what might we be looking at here?
The sharp eyes over at Xperia Blog think they’ve made a few IDs. The far-right phone in the middle row may be the LT22i Nypon. The two phones being indicated by those arrows may two of another upcoming unknown model, or we might be looking at one normal phone and one mini version; it’s pretty tricky telling if they’re the same size or not with this wonky perspective in play.
According to some recently-leaked specs, the Nypon will feature a display with remarkable brightness. It’s supposed to use one of Sony’s WhiteMagic screens, which claims 1000 nits of brightness; that’s the same figure we’ve heard used to describe LG’s NOVA display. When you’re not using the screen at full brightness, the WhiteMagic screen will supposedly be more power-efficient than a traditional LCD at comparable brightness. With luck, we might get to see it at the MWC next month.
