What’s in that girl’s hand? Sony Ericsson posted the above image to its Facebook page this morning, alongside the note that there’s some “interesting news” coming out next week. With the annual Consumer Electronics Show now looming over the horizon, it’s no surprise that plenty of smartphone manufacturers will be showcasing their new wares. Just what could Sony Ericsson be planning on showing-off?
There’s a good bit of unreleased SE smartphone hardware we’ve seen or heard about in one form or another. For a while now, there’s been talk of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Nozomi, along with quite a few pics of the phone. It’s supposed to be a 1.5GHz dual-core with a 4.3-inch 720p display. From the state in which we’ve seen the phone, it certainly seems possible for Sony Ericsson to be ready for a CES debut.
We’ve also learned of the existence of model LT28at, so far revealed through EXIF data, benchmark results, and the phone’s Bluetooth certification. According to that last set of data, the LT28at should be coming to the US at some point, but under what name we just can’t say yet.
The Xperia Ion is the flip-side to that situation, where we have a name (thanks to Sony Ericsson filing for trademark protection) but remain in the dark as to what hardware it might refer to. By next week, at least, SE will be shedding some light on at least a portion of this anticipated hardware; we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer for answers.
