Skype for Android Updated With Support for New Phones and More

Anton D. Nagy | September 29, 2011 8:34 AM

Skype’s Android client has just received an update, bumping the version number to 2.5.0.108. The most important addition to this version is that Skype now supports 11 additional smartphones: HTC Nexus One, HTC Shooter, Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V, LG Optimus Black, LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid 3, Motorola Bionic, Motorola Atrix.

Aside from the addition of new devices, Skype now supports switching between portrait and landscape mode during video calls; you can also zoom-in by double-tapping on the screen. The new version will introduce an advertising platform but adverts will not be shown to users that have Skype Credit, a Calling or Skype Premium subscription. If you wish to update, follow the source link or consult your Market app on your Android phone.
