We took a close look at Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Arc a couple weeks back, giving the phone a good hands-on review. As expected, the phone’s video performance was gorgeous, leveraging Sony’s Bravia engine for silky-smooth playback. We also really dug the smartphone’s camera, praising its low-light performance and HD video recording. Where the Android phone fell a little bit short was in its construction; though think and sleek, all the metal-flake plastic felt a bit cheap. We can’t help you any with finding a sturdier material, but if the phone might at least look a little more robust to you with a different shell, Orange UK will be offering an exclusive black edition of the phone, recently caught in a couple photos.
From a distance, the black Arc is a close match to the dark blue original, especially from a distance. While both dark phones, you’ll notice the most pronounced difference between the two in their finishes, with the Orange UK black version sporting a smooth, glossy veneer. A rumored white version of the phone has also been spotted, but there’s no word yet on where that will be sold, if it’s exclusive to any one carrier.
For comparison’s sake, here’s the original Arc in blue:
