Samsung’s First Android Slider for Verizon Pictured? (Photos)

While Samsung’s SCH-i405 QWERTY slider may resemble the company’s Epic 4G Galaxy S variant on Sprint, this handset is headed to rival CDMA carrier Verizon — most likely lacking the Epic’s 4G capabilities. Specs are still hard to come by on what will likely be Samsung’s first Android slider for Big Red, although its model number slots it in right after the i400 Continuum, suggesting a mid-range device with single-core gigahertz-class processor and WVGA display. In other words, we can probably expect a phone that’s a good deal like last year’s Epic 4G.

With i405 having already received its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications, but not yet FCC approval, a release is probably still a month or two out, putting it in the same general time frame that we’re expecting VZW to launch the Galaxy S II Function, also from Samsung.
