Sprint users of the Nexus S 4G may be looking quizzically at their phones today, wondering where their new software update is. After all, we were expecting one to arrive yesterday, supposedly ready to bump the phone up to Android 2.3.5, and enabling secure NFC transmissions. Don’t worry, it’s not just you who’s missing out on the software, as we’ve learned Sprint’s delayed the update’s release.

An internal Sprint screenshot tells the tale, though it’s not much in the way of details. All we learn is that update GRJ90 simply wasn’t ready to go out on Monday. If that means that Sprint rejected it, or it simply wasn’t ready in time, we don’t know. There definitely was a GRJ85 release we saw a pic of, but we can;t say if GRJ90 was ever finished.

The Samsung Transform is also having update troubles, though its EF09 update actually did make it out to users for a time. After getting reports that the update wasn’t able to install successfully for some users, further distribution has been halted. According to Sprint, Samsung is looking into what went wrong; hopefully, it will have a new version ready to go out soon.
