A Samsung Android phone destined for Verizon’s 4G LTE service has sprung up with a picture of its own, continuing with today’s flood of images featuring upcoming LTE smartphones.

We haven’t seen the Samsung SCH-I520 before, but just this one looks like it offers enough to get us excited about the phone. The most notable feature is the inclusion of that forward-facing camera at the upper-left. Video chat should be a perfect feature for Verizon’s LTE network, and this model is the first one we’ve seen on Verizon that will include the requisite forward-facing camera.

Supposedly Samsung is continuing with the inclusion of its TouchWiz interface, but this time without all the ties to Microsoft’s Bing. The tipster who snapped the pic didn’t offer any more insight into what we can expect from this Samsung model, but we can at least see that it’s configured for Froyo; no Gingerbread yet.

Is this the Galaxy S2? The screen on this model doesn’t really look like the Retina-Display-topping 340 ppi that the specs we heard back in July suggested the S2 would have. We’ve been cautiously optimistic that the S2 would be an LTE model, but there can certainly be more than one Samsung device among Verizon’s stable of first-run LTE smartphones. Judgement withheld, for now.
