We saw a fair bit of Samsung gear announced at last week’s CES, and while that meant plenty of new variants, like the Galaxy Note for AT&T, there wasn’t much in the way of all-new hardware. At least, that was the case on first glance, but Samsung fans who have been looking back over the company’s CES footage came across a briefly-glimpsed handset that may just be an upcoming Samsung smartphone.

The model in question pops-up in the official Samsung video embedded below at just past the seven minute mark. In a demonstration of the remote viewfinder feature for a WiFi-enabled camera, Samsung shows the camera being controlled by a smartphone we’re not yet familiar with.

Perhaps the most striking thing about the phone as depicted here is the barely-there bezel surrounding the screen. Samsung quite nearly has the phone’s display extending out all the way to its edges.

There’s plenty of speculation at the moment that this device is the Galaxy S III. If you’ll recall, we uncovered what may be the first image attributed to the Galaxy S III’s camera back at the end of last month. We still don’t know what that device will look like, so there’s a possibility that’s what Samsung was going for here. Still, something looks a bit off here, like the display’s rounded corners, making us think this is just a mock-up put together with a simulated screen.
