The Samsung Infuse on AT&T is running Android Froyo with the manufacturer releasing the 2.2 source code bits back in May, but the Samsung Infuse 4G up north in Canada is shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
If you go to the Samsung Open Source Release Center and search for i997 (the codename for the AT&T Infuse 4G) or i997R (the codename for the Canadian Rogers Infuse 4G, mocked-up above), you’ll see the later listed as being available. Given that it’s most probably Android 2.3 Gingerbread shipping on the Rogers variant, you can take a peek under the hood if you know your way around source codes to see what’s new and improved in the latest Samsung Infuse ROM — and hopefully coming soon to the AT&T version.
