Samsung is taking a unique approach to the tablet market by offering a similar product in different sizes. So far there are three screen sizes you can opt for should you want a Samsung tablet: 7″, 8.9″ and 10.1″. Soon there will be a fourth when the Galaxy Tab 7.7 launches. All of Samsung’s tablets are super thin, very light, and most are powered by dual-core CPUs. In the case of the Galaxy Tab 8.9″, it comes with a Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz CPU with 1GB of RAM. The screen is 1200×800 resolution, which is higher than the iPad 2, which provides crisper text in a lot of scenarios. In this video we take a look at Samsung’s latest entrant into the tablet market, the Galaxy Tab 8.9, which is indeed extremely thin and light, but it also feels a bit cheap because of its plastic construction. Many retailers, such as Best Buy, are taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 at a price tag of $469 for the 16GB model and $569 for the 32GB unit. This tab, unlike the 10.1″ model, is not tied to a carrier, so you’ll have to use it over WiFi.
