The first Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Samsung tablet, at the moment it was announced, was the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 which the South Korean manufacturer unveiled on February 13. We’ve got some hands-on time with a “special fingerprint magnet edition” — as Jaime called it — at MWC so you might want to check out the video below.

The U.K. market should expect the tablet sometime this month but it looks like the FCC just gave a thumbs-up to the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Nothing out of the ordinary but we can see that the GT-P3100 supports AT&T’s 3G frequencies, which, if it’s by no means an indication of it coming to the carrier, it should reassure that you can use it if you travel to the States.

Let’s talk specs: 1GHz dual-core processor, seven-inch WSVGA (600×1024) PLS TFT display, three-megapixel fixed focus main camera with no flash, VGA webcam, 1GB of RAM, 8/16/32GB internal memory flavors (with microSD expansion slot), 4,000mAh battery and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on-board.
