Anxiously tapping your foot while you await Samsung’s Galaxy S2 to make it to a carrier near you? It may not be the news that smartphone fans in the US have been waiting for, but their neighbors to the north will be overjoyed to hear that a multitude of carriers have just announced plans to sell the powerhouse, officially bringing it to North America for the first time.

The Galaxy S2 is on the way to Bell, Virgin Mobile, and SaskTel; all three carriers near-simultaneously announced the good news. SaskTel will be keeping the phone’s name, while Bell and Virgin Mobile will play-up its HSPA+ capabilities by tacking-on “4G” to its moniker.

Though it’s not yet up on SaskTel’s website, that carrier appears to be the first to start actually selling the smartphone, announcing that the GS2 is available in its stores, presumably now. With one of Canada’s three-year service contracts, the GS2 will set you back a mere $80. Bell and Virgin Mobile are holding their cards a little closer to their chests; Bell’s got a lander page up for the phone, but no real info’s available. Virgin Mobile says that the smartphone will arrive “in the coming weeks”, but offered that much without commenting on what the cost what be.

The US is still waiting for formal announcements of its Galaxy S2 models, presumed to be the Attain, Function, and Within.
