Here’s something to get you through until Samsung releases an official Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S (if ever) or at least get you through the week-end. Google’s latest mobile operating system has been ported from the Nexus S and is running just fine on the Samsung Galaxy S.
For the more technical among you, it uses the Nexus S kernel compiled from sources and runs the image dumped from the Nexus. According to the developer, everything is running fine except GPS, Voice, WiFi, some of the buttons and the camera. These will most probably be fixed in the near future and when that happens, all you Galaxy S Gingerbread daydreamers will have Google’s latest and greatest on your phone. Check out the short videos below and let us know of your thoughts in the comments!
