After a spate of rumors late last month and into early March, things have been relatively quiet regarding the Samsung Galaxy S III as of late. It almost feels like we’re in a holding pattern at the moment; after Samsung rejected claims that the phone would arrive sometime during April, we’re left waiting for the next plausible theory on its release. Today we get an update on the phone’s progress, though far from the most reliable one, courtesy of Eldar Murtazin on Twitter.

Murtazin claims that the Galaxy S III is a done deal at this point, with Samsung having finalized all hardware details and now preparing to enter production. More importantly than just the fact that the phone is ready to start being made, Murtazin says that pre-orders from carriers and retailers are off the charts, setting the GS3 up to potentially be the top-selling Galaxy Android ever.

The only hardware feature that Murtazin attempts to confirm is the ceramic body, presumably chosen to offer superior antenna performance. We’d really like to hear some more about the possibility of a 1080p display, especially after looking at evidence that seems to support a 720p screen, but that will have to wait for another day.
