The Samsung Galaxy S II has been out for quite a while in different regions but there was no word regarding the U.S. variants — Attain, Function, Within — aside from the usual rumors that keep coming. It appears that the Korean manufacturer is preparing to launch the American variants of the SGS2 in August.
At the South Korean launch of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Shin Jong-Kyun, president of the company’s mobile communications business, announced that the U.S. launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II will be August. Unfortunately there was no more information related to an exact date in August, pricing or carrier partnerships. Only the market feedback will tell if Samsung is too late to the show or not, but the expectations are high and so are the number of disappointed potential customers.
Apple is expected to launch its next iPhone roughly in the same time-frame; HTC and Motorola keep adding new phones to the market so there will be some strong competition for Samsung. Given the popularity of the Galaxy S phone from last year, there’s also a potential for a huge success too.
