Last week, owners of the Galaxy S II got news from Samsung that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for their phones was just about to be officially released. Before anyone had time to celebrate, though, Samsung revealed that the announcement was premature, and its division in the Philippines had posted the news in error. We feel like we’re going through a bit of déjà vu here, with more news arriving of a pending ICS update, only to be similarly retracted.

This time, the claim about the GS2 Android 4.0 update came form South Korean cellular provider SK Telecom. The carrier tweeted that it would be delivering the smartphone’s update to its users beginning tomorrow at 10am. Since the time of its original posting, the tweet has been taken down.

Last week’s slip-up might have been just slightly premature, as this time it seems like the update might actually show up as advertised. The Verge reports seeing documents on SK Telecom’s computers that reinforce the idea that its users will get ICS on their GS2s tomorrow morning. Officially, all Samsung’s saying is that the update will be out soon.

Assuming the update actually does start going out in Korea tomorrow, it shouldn’t be long until its availability start to spread to users all around the world.
