Yes, it’s another attempt to get Froyo on a Samsung Galaxy S device, this time it’s coming to Verizon’s Fascinate. The “official DL30 build” has been leaked, pre-rooted, and packaged up into an update that’s flashable via ClockworkMod Recovery. Other than that, the ROM has all the Verizon and Samsung “bloatware included, unedited, and unchanged”.
To flash it you’ll have to have rooted your phone and installed ClockworkMod Recovery, but it will work with either the DJ05 or DL09 radios, which should make your life a little earlier. If you’re interested in making the non-supported jump to the semi-official Froyo ROM, you’ll find the file you need at the XDA-Developers thread.
With Samsung’s recent comments about and releases of Froyo updates for other Galaxy S phones on other carriers, those that haven’t already rooted their phones may want to hold-tight and wait for the official release. But if you’re not one of those, make sure and let us know your experiences in the comments below!
