There was absolutely no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S II will get Ice Cream Sandwich and the manufacturer even tweeted the confirmation, though without an exact roll-out date. We then saw what appeared to be an official Android 4.0 ROM running on the phone and now the Korean manufacturer has more news.
The first Galaxy devices to get the Ice Cream Sandwich treat will be the flagship ones: Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. Expect the platform refresh for these two in the first quarter of the year with other Galaxy phones following (Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy R). Since Q1 ends in March, we are definitely hoping for a sooner than later roll-out, somewhere around January-February, especially knowing that Samsung already has the code for Ice Cream Sandwich given that it manufactures the Galaxy Nexus.
