Not even Santa could ease the disappointment millions of Samsung Galaxy S users felt when the Korean manufacturer announced there will be no Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the phone — because of TouchWiz.
Maybe Santa does read its letters after all (or Samsung is now hearing clearly the voice of the angry mob) as the phone-maker announced that it will be reviewing the viability of updating the Galaxy S in response to strong customer demand. Just like it was the case with the HTC Desire and its Gingerbread update (where HTC blamed the low storage for delivering said refresh), Samsung explained that TouchWiz is to blame for the lack of ICS hopes. Now Sammy will investigate ways to get some Ice Cream Sandwich love to those phones and we have a hunch users won’t mind if the update comes sans TouchWiz (or a couple of built-in apps).
