Of course we miss the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and we’d like to see it out there already — especially with users in Canada being already able to grab it — but Verizon never said anything official regarding the phone so that we can complain about delays.
However, it definitely appears there’s something wrong and according to different reports, the phone missed not one but several targeted launch dates. According to the latest rumors it might have something (everything) to do with Google Wallet.
Google confirmed that Verizon was asking for Wallet’s removal but then the carrier jumped in with thoughts regarding this. As part of ISIS, Verizon would definitely prefer having their own mobile payment system on the phones instead of Google’s Wallet.
However, as we already stated, it would not be the first Nexus phone to ship without Wallet and there’s even a fairly easy way of getting the app on the phone. Recent chatter indicates December 15 as a possible date to circle in your calendar if you want the Verizon Galaxy Nexus so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
