Initially rumored for mid-November availability, Opera Mobile for Android has been officially announced as out-of-beta and available starting November 9.

Whether the buzz around hardware acceleration – that would make browsing fast and easy by speeding up page load times as well as add smooth and fast navigation and scrolling – will turn out to be a winner is yet unknown but there’s only a few nights to sleep till everyone on the platform will be able to experience the mobile browser. And with pinch-to-zoom also on the checklist, this could make a strong competitor for the other browsers available for the green platform.

Oh, and Opera will also celebrate the launch with a contest where two Samsung Galaxy S Android smartphones are thrown in for the artists amongst you that will design the best Opera wallpaper for Android.
