We know the HTC Desire as one of the best and most popular Android smartphones on the market and it’s one of the HTC devices that recently was updated to Android 2.2 Froyo (it was released on the market with 2.1 Eclair).
Just today, HTC released an official update for the HTC Desire on their Worldwide and European support websites, an update which is aimed at users running unbranded devices. Applying the update over the air will bring your OS to 2.10.405.2 and offers three things according to the official description: “1. Android OS update patch, 2. Enhanced multi inbox Gmail support and 3. Improved Russia keyboard layout”.
Even though we applied the update without a backup, it is recommended to have a full backup handy just in case something goes wrong. We advise you to download via WiFi and to have more than 50% battery level before starting the process which could take up to 5 minutes.
