Earlier today NVIDIA announced the release of an app designed for Android smartphones and tablets using their Tegra platform: Tegra Zone. The app is free and is basically an alternative to the Android Market that showcases apps written to take advantage of NVIDIA’s Tegra chipset.
After you’d decided to purchase an app from Tegra Zone the app shovels you off to the Android Market to complete the purchase and installation.
In any other situation I’d call shenanigans, but where the Tegra chipset represents such a big leap ahead in technology I think this will be a welcome addition for owners of Tegra devices to help them find breathtaking apps.
If you have a Tegra-based Android smartphone or tablet you should be able to find Tegra Zone in the Android Market today.
