For the longest time, we would hear a little bit about the Samsung Galaxy S III every few months. That made sense, especially at a time when we were still waiting for the GS2. Things have been ramping-up lately, with a few mentions of the phone last month, our discovery of an image that may have been taken by a GS3, and some new rumors arriving this week. Yesterday, we looked at Eldar Murtazin’s claim that the phone would be premiered at the Mobile World Congress next month, followed by sales beginning in April. Eldar’s a bit hit-and-miss, but it sounded from his tweets like he’d had some hands-on experience with the phone. Today, though, new rumors attributed to multiple sources say that Samsung will be delaying its timetable for the phone, and we won’t get a chance to see it at MWC.

Sources known to both The Verge and BestBoyZ have contacted the sites, making these claims. We haven’t heard any theories explaining just why Samsung might have changed its mind. Though this news only targets the phone’s announcement, and not that rumored April release, it sounds like the whole schedule is getting pushed back. That’s because the rescheduled announcement will now supposedly occur “before summer”; maybe Samsung would just prefer not to commit to another date just yet, but the sounds of that makes us think we’re going to have a bit of a wait on our hands.
