After Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez’s tweet last week — according to which an OTA update containing Gingerbread will hit devices in the next few day — everyone was both jealous and anxious while counting the days, maybe even manually checking for updates several times per day.
Well, Nexus One did indeed receive an update but the flavor was not Gingerbread. The “important bug fixes and security patches” update is labeled FRG83D and brings the following changes:
- Updates to the core and framework JARs
- Updates to the Dalvik VM and Webcore libraries
- Updates to the Email, Google Services Framework and Market packages.
- A couple of other very minor patches
While we still don’t know a certain release date for Android Gingerbread, there could be still time for that certain Nexus One update Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez mentioned.
